About the job

The Insurance Contract and Accounts Payable Associate manages subcontractor insurance and administration for all Nauset Construction projects. This position is the liaison between Nauset’s insurance broker and the project teams to ensure subcontractor compliance as it relates to Nauset’s strategic objectives and risk management. The accounting responsibilities include full cycle Accounts Payable and other assigned projects.


  • Manage and track the subcontractor’s insurance compliance program.

  • Review and analyze subcontractor’s certificates of insurance for compliance with subcontract agreements and authorization to access job sites.

  • Request and follow up with subcontractors and agents regarding new or expired insurance and clearly communicate any non-compliant insurance issues with the agent and / or subcontractor.

  • Identify noncompliant insurance and elevate to upper management.

  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for review with accounting and project management regarding subcontractor compliance status as it relates to subcontractor payments.

  • Distribute and file fully executed subcontractor contracts or purchase orders to subcontractors/vendors.

  • Work with project management to identify subcontractor performance across jobs.

  • Maintain the Accounting email; monitor and submit invoices into Timberscan; categorize and code all invoices to proper cost code.

  • Create Excel sheets for subcontractors’ requisitions to attach to their current billing, verify all numbers for accuracy based on previous billings.

  • Process weekly check run for outstanding invoices.

  • Generate payment’s report for funds received per job, gather and track supporting documentation and verify payments made to suppliers for check run.

  • Complete special projects or other duties that may be assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree and / or 1 – 5 years work experience preferred.

  • Understanding of construction, contracts, and insurance terminology preferred.

  • Highly detailed with strong organizational and time management skills is a must.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; MS Access, Sage 300, and Timberscan a plus.

  • Ability to work individually or collaborate professionally with co-workers, subcontractors and third parties.
