About the job

Responsible for the daily project site operations, including managing and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring a safe, productive, and efficient workflow throughout the project lifecycle. The position reports to the Vice President of Field Operations and is based on site.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • On site supervision and coordination of trades, suppliers, equipment, and material deliveries; manage the daily field activities to ensure that project milestone dates, quality, and overall schedule are met.

  • Daily verification of quality control/ quality assurance; ensure that construction work is being performed in accordance with the contract documents.

  • Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.

  • Attend/participate in weekly Project Meetings (on site)

  • Work closely with the Project Manager with project related administration, i.e., submittals, RFI's, Architectural/Engineering sketches & directives, and schedule.

  • Perform on site daily safety inspections; accompany third-party Safety Officers during formal site safety inspections; perform weekly safety meetings (Toolbox Safety meetings).

  • Mechanical/Electric coordination - verify as-built conditions.

  • Maintain Project Schedule; provide 3-Week Look Ahead schedule at each weekly meeting; ability to maintain safe, efficient, and orderly "work-flow".

  • Participate/coordinate/schedule periodic inspections with local and state building officials; obtain/track/compile all inspection results and associated reports.

  • Provide troubleshooting and proposed solutions due to unforeseen field and/or design conditions/conflicts; resolve problems as they arise regarding conflicts and/or design discrepancies.

  • Maintain a consistently clean and safe job site; enforces subcontractor clean-up; ensures that temporary protection and traffic control are being maintained.

  • Administrative duties include producing/tracking: RFI's, Daily Reports, Incident Reports, Issues Log, Concrete Logs, Submittals, Work Lists, Punch Lists, Project Closeout documentation, and associated reports.

  • Establish and maintain all dimensional controls for the project, including the use of third-party survey and layout personnel.

  • Coordinates/schedules on site testing agencies, police, and fire-watch details as required by contract/job site conditions.


Working Conditions:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/walk, climb stairs, ladders, staging, platforms, and/or maneuver through buildings or properties for long periods of time. The employee must be able to maintain reasonable balance, remain focused and alert.  The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, type, call, write, bend, stoop, and reach, as well as lift, move and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to work in hot, damp, and cold climates typical of New England.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar capacity.

  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (MA CSL).

  • High school diploma or GED required, advanced degree in construction management, engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience, a plus.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Project Superintendents, Inspectors, and Subcontractors.

  • The desire to achieve/exceed client expectations is paramount.

  • Comfortable with technology and able to quickly learn the construction software used to track progress, oversee costs, and generate reports.

Salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
